Humboldt Bay Temporary Safety Zones, Fall/Winter 2019-2020

The Coast Guard has established temporary safety zones to close the entrance channel of Humboldt Bay during periods of hazardous surf. This safety zone will be enacted/activated by Coast Guard broadcast on VHF-FM channel 16 and will prohibit vessels from transiting the harbor entrance channel during extreme environmental conditions. EMERGENCY MEETING

EMERGENCY MEETING FEBRUARY 21, 2019  1:30 pm in the Woodley Island Marina conference room to discuss the recent US Army Corps of Engineers soundings for Humboldt Bay and Draft restrictions.

BUOY 2 removed and BUOY 9 off station

Buoy 2 has been removed and is currently considered a seasonal buoy.  a "virtual buoy" is active and marking the location of Buoy 2.

Buoy 9 went adrift 12/12/2018 and was caputured by USCG.  The buoy is currently tied to the dock at Station Humboldt Bay and the light is out.
